Sugar Mountain Area New Year’s Eve Events

An argument could be made that there is no better way to celebrate New Year’s Eve than the snow-topped mountainsides of quaint North Carolina mountain town.

The crisp breeze may sting across your skin, but it makes you feel alive. And when the snow becomes just a tad too much, you can escape into one of our gorgeous and warm mountaintop vacation rentals.

New Year’s Eve is a time to reflect on the past year and apply new changes for the next. It’s a time to celebrate everything you have accomplished and everything you still want to improve, change, and embrace. The village takes all of this to heart with some big Sugar Mountain New Year’s Eve things to do in the mountains.

The Village of Sugar Mountain New Year’s Eve

The main event in Sugar Mountain is right in the heart of the village. This defining celebration has everything you could ask for in a bold New Year celebration, and maybe even a little more.

The main event is the fireworks. The fireworks erupt triumphantly in the mountains at the stroke of midnight. Other mountainside New Year’s Eve celebrations may get it done early, but Sugar Mountain does it at the right time.

The fireworks are preceded by an alpine torch light parade. It will head right through the main downtown area, and conclude right as the fireworks begin to soar through the air.

The event is open to the general public and free of charge. It is the main holiday event for the season, and one you don’t want to skip out on.

Last Run Lounge Party

We know that a New Year’s Eve event is more than fireworks. Fortunately, there are other happenings in Sugar Mountain for the iconic last day of the year. While the village fireworks are great for the whole family, the Last Run Lounge Party is an adult-appropriate get-together in one of Sugar Mountain’s best café bars. This lively indoor locale is located at the Sugar Mountain Resort.

You get a wonderful dinner as well as a group champagne toast at midnight. Not only is the lounge a cozy place to escape the cold, but you get warm meals and a lovely ambiance for a big group to enjoy without trouble.

The Third Floor Cafeteria Festivities

The event at the Third Floor Cafeteria is welcoming for all ages. There’s plenty to do and see leading up to the big time. All guests will receive a gift box of party favors that can be used during the evening or be taken home as keepsakes from the special holiday (or both).

The third floor event hall will also have a complimentary champagne toast at midnight. During the evening, guests can dance, enjoy the live music, and partake in some fun activities for any age.

A basket of hors d’oeuvres will greet you when you arrive, setting the right kind of tone to carry you through the night. The Rockabilly’s will perform their spectacular mix of rock, western, country, and pop throughout the evening.

Festivities begin at 9 p.m. and conclude at 1 a.m.

Plan Your New Year’s Eve Sugar Mountain Vacation

All of these events cater to a different type of person. For a more DIY adventure, you can just go and see the village fireworks for free. For a family-friendly night of games and music, visit the Third Floor Cafeteria. Finally, you can stop by the Last Run Lounge for a lounge-type night of drinking and atmosphere.

A courtesy bus shuttle will run to 1:30 a.m. to get you anywhere you need to be. Booking ahead for the indoor events is highly recommended.
