Sugar Mountain’s slopes are sporting a base of 36-56”; with 4” of fresh new snow since New Year’s and more on the way, now is a great time to get into the winter fun. All slopes are open and snow making is ongoing.

If you are new to winter sports, Sugar Mountain Resort invites you to try snowshoeing for free by participating in the 19th Annual National Winter Trails Day Saturday, January 11, 2014. Snowshoeing and cross country skiing are quick to learn and fun for all ages making them perfect for families and groups and they are a great way to get some exercise. While snowshoeing participants wear specially designed foot gear which distributes their weight, allowing them to walk on snow without breaking through it. The complimentary forty-five minute snowshoe guided tour includes a snowshoe rental.
